Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop world. The singer also swept every continent during the course of her journey. Swift left her heritage in country music as if she was a second skin, and revealed that she had the best pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only musician/singer to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it when she went on tour. The first songs she released, such as the neotribute in tribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. But, her follow-up album Fearless from 2008 showed the songwriter finding her voice and a wider audience. Fearless wound up having considerable reach not just on the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift could build on her success with Speak Now almost two year after. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), her popularity increased and she found herself in a music scene with a clear sense of where she was a part of. In the end, when she refocused her music to the stripped-down versions of 2020, Folklore, and Evermore however, she remained on top. It was a position that was confirmed through re-recordings of her previous catalogue as in Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
