Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played her role in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best supporting Actress. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of Mute Scottish pianist, who in the middle of the 19th century makes her way from Scotland to New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old and had almost no previous acting experience. The actress moved in the United States as a teen. Paquin played a minor role as the title character when she was in the midst of her childhood as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television film adaptation of the novel written by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). Also, she played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). The actress also played the role of groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
